Over 60 and Struggling with Reduced Strength or Balance? Join us for Pilates Classes in Stonehouse in September 2026
Dates for next Block of classes at the Magpies Social Club, Stonehouse GL10

Bookings for new members open Tuesday 1st September 2026 as spaces are prioritised for current members renewing. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please contact me with a contact phone number and indicating which class you are interested in attending. Emails often end up in the junk mailbox and so I would contact you via WhatsApp or text message, and you wouldn’t believe just how many people message me that they are interested in Pilates, but not which class.
Tuesday, Thursday & Friday Classes
All three classes are small, friendly groups — usually no more than a handful of us, so I can keep an eye on everyone and adapt exercises to whatever’s going on with your body that week.
Tuesday 9:30am — Stretch & Strength
A Pilates-inspired class built around functional stretching and strength work — great for mobility, core control and everyday movement. This one’s open to everyone, including men, so if you’ve been looking for a small, supportive strength and mobility class, this could be the one for you.
Thursday 6pm — Mat Pilates (50+)
Friday 9:30am — Gentle Mat Pilates (60+)
Both of these are mat-based Pilates sessions, currently run as women-only groups. Spaces on these two rarely come up — when they do, they tend to go quickly, so it’s worth getting in touch to be added to the waiting list.
What to bring & wear
Tuesday — Stretch & Strength Lightweight, supportive shoes or yoga socks work well (small mats are provided if you need one). Go for stretchy or loose-fitting clothing that you can move freely in. All equipment is provided, but if you’d like more of a challenge than my light resistance bands, feel free to bring your own band or weights.
Thursday & Friday — Mat Pilates Socks or yoga socks, and stretchy clothing — leggings and a t-shirt are perfect. Please bring your own Pilates or yoga mat, plus a small towel. A 2-inch Pilates block is handy if you have one, but a rolled-up towel does the job just as well. If it’s warm, bring some water too.
Where
All three classes are held at The Magpies Club, Oldends Lane, Stonehouse, GL10 2DG.
Prices
- £10 per session if booked and paid in advance
- £12 per session pay-as-you-go — this option is generally reserved for existing members whose shifts or work patterns change week to week, and only when there’s a free space
A note on fit
I want everyone in my classes to get the right level of challenge and support, so:
- Younger people are very welcome, but if you’re a lot younger than the rest of the group, I may suggest a class or teacher that’s a better match for you.
- Men are very welcome at Tuesday’s Stretch & Strength. If you’re a man looking for Pilates specifically, I’ll happily point you towards another local teacher, as Thursday and Friday remain women-only for now.
Not sure which class is right for you? Get in touch and I’ll help you find the best fit — or the best person to see if that’s not with me.
