Achieving Chartered Status: What Chartered Status Means.
Chartered Status is the highest level of professional recognition awarded by CIMSPA, the UK’s governing body for the sport and physical activity sector. It’s only given to practitioners who demonstrate exceptional knowledge, experience and commitment to safe, high‑quality practice.
For you as a client, this means:
- You’re working with someone independently recognised for excellence
- Your sessions are grounded in evidence‑based, up‑to‑date practice
- Your safety, wellbeing and long‑term progress are always prioritised
- You can trust the guidance you receive — it meets the highest professional standards
In short: Chartered means you’re in very safe hands.
Thank you to CIMSPA for this recognition, and to the incredible women I work with every day who inspire me to keep learning, growing and championing safe, accessible movement for all.
Kim Menzies FCIMSPA Chartered Senior Personal Trainer & Health and Activity Specialist Founder of Stonehouse Pilates | Pilates in Pyjamas | Strong After 60 | Keep Fit with Kim
I have been in the industry since 1991 and have spent more than two decades helping women over 50 rediscover what their bodies can do — often at moments when they’ve felt unsure, limited or left behind by traditional fitness spaces. My own journey into Pilates and strength training began with a simple belief: movement should feel safe, supportive and achievable, no matter your age or starting point.
Today, as an FCIMSPA Chartered Senior Personal Trainer and Health & Activity Specialist, I specialise in working with professional women navigating mobility challenges, pain, or the confidence dip that can arrive in midlife. Through Stonehouse Pilates I’ve created welcoming spaces where women can build strength gently, move without fear and feel proud of every step forward.
My work is grounded in evidence‑based practice, but it’s driven by something deeper — the joy of watching a woman realise she is stronger, steadier and more capable than she thought. That moment never gets old.
